Hey all,
Can someone tell me if a 1ltr body will go onto a 1.3 chassis.(not sure on the date on body), I have a 85 drover with a big rust problem. 1.3 bodies are expensive so looking at the 1ltr ones.
Found this one: Mostly 1.3 onto 1ltr chassis.

Thanks

NO.
I have a 1 litre chassis with a NT body. The mounts are different. You could MAKE it work, but if you are after a straight swap keep looking for a NT one.
Oh, and I have been told that the transfer case shifter hole is in a slightly different location, and that the tranny tunnel is slightly narrower. you will also have to remount your hydraulic brake booster, as 1 litres don't have one. There is prolly heaps of other crap too.

nic - why dont you have a sticky beak in a few wreckers? im sure if you got a rollover job for bonnet and rear end, and a collision for a roof youd be right... then its back to the gray spray can eh? =P oh and do it right this time - buy a soft top!!

Alien - I have including mine 2 front clips and 1 x bonnet. the doors and front clip is the only thing not rusting or gone already. ~$500 for a body at the wreckers, I want a cheapy, not much rust - dents ok.
Prefer straight swap then cut shunt job.
cheers.

Not at all.
Fire wall is absolutelly different, tranny tunnel is not as wider, tranny stick hole is diferent, dashbords nuts are lower, body studs are shorter, rubber body mounts are smaller.
All other things are the same. I mounted a SJ410 body over my Samurai, using a Samurai Resine Top and old fire wall.-

could get it cheaper from the wreckers if you offered to remove it yourself? labour would surely be most of the cost....

Ditto, the two are different, especially the firewall and the way the bodies mount.
