My mate recently purchased a crappy old 40 and wants to come bush, he is trying to get away with not lifting it if he can.
he wants to run 33" muddies, but will they scrub the gaurds without any body lift and without doing a gaurd chop??

Im no expert but i would say yes! dependent on flex.
i have 35s and SPOA and i scrub at back.

they will grab the lip on the front guards on full lock n twist up
and flair the rear guards out and catch the inner guard on the rear too
mine does it with a 2'' lift above standard
maybe bend up all the lips on the gaurds to reduce it if he is only gunna paddock bash it style

yea i run 2 in susp lift with 33's, on road it never scrubs
off road... rarely... only on max flex it just hits the front guard
but overall.... im pretty pleased with how high it is and choice of tyres and all that.... i think its a good setup.

I run 33x10.5`s and only just rubs on the front tie rod end and also on the pitman arm on full flex and thats with standard suspension.

the troopy is a little taller stock
mine used to run 33's on stock suspension, trim the rear guards.

i have a crap 2" susp lift and have cut about 10-20mm from my rear guards to reduce scrubbing...
I do get a tiny amount of rubbing when maxing out the articulation off-road with 33x10.5xr15 jt2's.
i'm sure if you weren't doing anything off-road you'd have no issues without any lift..
