Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'll give you the short version...

The day I got EVERYTHING finally sorted on the middy, it caught on fire while I was driving. I haven't seen it properly since but from what I could see in the dark, The interior is fine apart from the dash but the engine bay is back to square one.

Question is, given this opportunity, what do I put in there and who do I get to do it?

I'm hoping the VN V8 will have survived but should be cheap to replace and rewire now that the adaptor kit is in. Who is the best Auto Elec in Melb to do this???

Then I was thinking dual batteries, 80 series brake booster (sounds like thats the best one to use from the threads I've read) A better radiator cos it used to run a little warm. (Which one???)

Anything else I should do while I have the chance? Who would you reccommend to do the work?

I have to get insurance quotes on Friday.

All suggestions welcome and have a laugh when you can cos thats all thats stopping me from getting really pissed off about the whole thing!!!!

That sucks lucky the whole thing ddn't go up in flames.

I used Choice Connections (II think thhat was their name) they are on Elizabeth St in the city. great service and did a great job of rewiring my Sierra which was a bit f a dogs breakfast. Previous owners mess, my mess, original Sierra loom and the new Corolla loom patched in. they tidied it all up, wired in new dash switches for extras, extra power outlets and got everything to work when it should.

A Nissan Gazelle is not really a loss to this earth

But the inconvenience of not being mobile sucks

Doesn't sound like everything was sorted afterall.

I am always worried about burnt out engine bays etc. The metal work is never the same.

I had a fire under the dash of my 85 4runner with a commo v6, not much damage but was written off by the insurance co, apparently fire damage is almost always a right off due to future problems with wiring, paint, smell etc according to my claims man.

Ended up buying it back, wrecking it and making money on it, and keeping stuff I wanted.
