UHF antenna tuning

how do you tune in a uhf antenna? i know how to do it with a 27mhz but not a uhf.
If i cant do it myself is there anyone in the dandenong area that knows how to do it and can help me out?

uhf antennas don't need SWRing in like the old 27mhz

They still work on the same principle, just a different frequency.

You probably just mean that UHF antenna's generally "just work" without tuning because generally if installed correctly, the SWR will be below 1.5 anyway.

im not an expert, but on what ive been told they dont "need" it, but it would give you a better coverage. The extra coverage it would give you is not worth the hassle though. i read that on a UHF website but cant remember which one......so it could be BS

generally you dont need to do it as most UHF antennas are factory SWR'd...
However, if you still would like to check your SWR, you will need a UHF SWR meter which are not cheap for a once off kind of thing...
Just install correctly, make sure it is a ground independant type and she'll be right ;)
