Forgive my ignorance, its the first time i been playing with these motors

Any one had any trouble with any particular brand of fan belts for the TB42 or am i better off biting the bullet and buying nissan stuff?

Oil filters? again any i should avoid or any i should try and seek out?

Coolant? how prone are the water galleries to being chewed out by cheap coolant or is nissan the only way to go again?

Thanks for any help
Simon

I stick with genuine belts and coolant, filters I am more flexible, saying that I usually use genuine as well.
Not all genuine prices are sky high, I got genuine belts and water pump cheaper than aftermarket.
Common Nissan parts are usually reasonable, go for a less common part then hold on while you bend over ($500 for a GU diesel air box only + $500 for the pipes to connect to the turbo  ) - went to the wreckers and modified instead (got own parts - cost $0)

Coolent all u need is corrosion inhibitor in the system...

fitlers, oil i only use RYCO as with fuel....

air filter doesnt really matter on brand unless u want to go up a notch to a K+N one of anything....

fan belts, no dramas at all with brand thus far. I use DAYCO belts, never a problem......

screwy ;)

Just a note on fan belts...the ones without the cogs will tend to last longer...most belts like Gates (they make Harley belts exclusively) and Dayco are all good.

The Nissan belts are usually Dayco belts anyway. But as menioned, GATES belts are very good
