80 series diff lock into RFS 100?

I read that the 100/105 series have larger axles with higher spline counts than the 80 series. Would it be possible to fit side gears from a 100 to an 80 series locking diff centre such that 100 ser. axles would fit?
Are the front axles also larger in the RFS 100 series than in the 80 series? In other words, can an 80 front diff centre be fitted to a 100?
Thanks for any info,
Dave

If your talking rear difflock they are completly different as the 100 centre has tapped holes in the crown wheel and bolts ( 80 has tee bolts and nuts), the crownwheel is in a different position, 80 gears can be fitted but the locker need to be sleeved where the side gears fit as 80 side gears (30 spline 1 5/16 Dia) have a 45mm spigot and 100 side gears (32 SPLINE 1 3/8 Dia) have a 50mm spigot. 80 and 100 solid axle front lockers are interchangable thou and both are 30 spline!

Thanks for the info, Wally. If I were to install a locking rear diff centre off an 80 series into a 100 series, would it be possible to machine down a set of 100 series side gears to fit it?

Yep sure can, the gears are real tough so you need to use ceramic cutting tip to get a good finish, they just eat normal carbide tips but OK for removing the bulk of the material.
