Hi guys
Thinking of fittimg a Landrover filter assembly in front of the Nissan item on my GQ TD42. I can pick up the CAV unit from the old series truck and fit filters for peanuts keeping the original filter in for yonks. Would there be any probs with putting that unit inline with original?

why don't u just lose the original filter. Mines been running on a single cav filter for years without problems. At about 4 bucks for a replacement I change it every 5000km just for the hell of it.

Thanks Big Mav
The filter housing I was going to use off the series Landy is an old model CAV which has no pump on it to bleed filter housing . It has bleed screw and you pump from a fuel pump under distributor injector pump. I wonder if this would still work cos filters on this landy unit are quite small. I have seen pictures of the new type Cav unit that you guys use but don`t know if I can get it here.

Hi Lexi, I have done the same thing you are asking about, works OK with my TD42. CAV 1st then the Nissan filter with pump to get the air all out.

Hi Alex, Fleetguard part no. for Nissan FF 5307 costs about $22 Aust. money. The CAV filter was given to me by a friend, he used it on his old MQ Patrol, it was taken to work and cleaned up with a sand blaster ( looks new :) ). It has on it: Lucas, Made in UK, Type FAS. Hope this helps. Cheers Paul.
