Can anyone with a second battery tray please give me a couple of measurements on how far out the battery sits from the inner guard. I ask this because i'm thinking of welding one up and i don't have the original overflow bottle yet (plan on getting it soon). Or am I better off just buying an ARB TJM jobbie. Even a picture or two of the battery tray would help.

i'm on the northside but i think the tray you've got isn't exactly what i'm after I think my fuel filter and other bits will be in the way on the td42. Cheers anyway. I think I'll pay ARB a visit and see if their tray will fit the battery I have. cheers

will prolly need to move the turbo air inlet hose over a bit more to allow a proper sized battery tray to sit there.

thats how i have it on mine.. sorry got no pics.. but after some fiddling i made it fit :D

yeah i was thinking the same thing but it shouldn't be a problem moving it over a bit. I may have to wrap it in some shielding or something to prevent it from melting.

Hi BigMav, Is that a K&N air filter you are using? Does it feed the turbo with all the air it needs, thinking of using the same when I put a turbo on my SWB MAV.
The overflow bottle is about 140mm out from the guard and the tray is 180x310 long.

Fitted my arb tray weekend just gone. had to relocate ign coil to side of tray and am still in the process of getting pipe to connect air intake back to inner guard. Can measure if you like. Previous truck I made the tray and brackets ect, much easier just bolting a pre fab tray in place.

Thanks for the pics guys they help a lot. Oxyg3n if it isn' t too much trouble do you mind telling me the dimensions of the ARB tray itself. ARB themselves couldn't tell me, I'm thinking that I will have to make my own due to the battery I'm planning to put in but could be wrong.

The air filter I'm using is a JR filter. (made by K&N) They're a little bit cheaper but identical in every way. The guys at ON Track 4x4 told me that it would provide plenty of airflow to the turbo and will filter the air better than the standard airbox on top of the engine. I had to go this way as there was originally a massive commodore airbox in the way of where my battery will soon be going. i use a unifilter sock in the snorkel for when it gets really dusty for a little extra protection.

Hi BigMav, Thanks for the info on the air filter, I have a K&N on order at AutoPro and hope to pick it up next week. Will be using a Donaldson on top the snorkel for long trip away. Thanks Paul.
