Hi all

I was hoping someone could help answer a few questions I have

In re to Safari imports, their 4.2 l diesel are their engines the same as the non-imports and spare parts therefore interchangable?

Further I have seen a few with 3 speed autos... I would imagine they would be screaming at 100kph and your fuel consumption would go out the window...

I know insurance is considerably more expensive on these imports

They are all 24volt till about 1995.
The auto is the same as the 300 ZX and can struggle with the torque but it is still 1 to 1 in top so no screaming plus they have an overdrive.
Most stuff is interchangable plus some of the imports have a higher spec level then Patrols.

I always thought the autos where the same as whats in a TB42 petrol and basically the same as what was used in the Nissan Infinnitys of the mid 90's. Same auto just slightly different valve bodys.

my insurance was not that different in price, the only thing is that not all places will insure you. Just Cars Insurance is the way to go for it
