no as a normal non power steer pump would not be existant in your truck

but a normal power steer pump suited to your engine will and then you fit the ifs box and plumb it up

spaz bot- that is what i meant as in i have found a pump to suit the 2.4 diesel for a very cheap price but the wreckers all want abotu 700-850 for the complete thing....how much do the ifs boxs go for?
and what tie rod and pitman arm shoudl i use? as in off another car not from superior engineering or snake racing?

I've heard that IFS steering boxes go for around 2-300...

IFS box with 80 pitmsn arm popular choice. The snake one looks suspiciously like a factory 80 arm painted red to me.

60 series box an option- plenty of discussion about putting one in lux a while back but never saw any attempt. It would require custom RHS shock hoop, oil filter relocation (on diesel anyway), custom PS lines, some fancy steering shaft (maybe double uni from 80). The advantage would be you get the front "draglink" as far forward as you like, reducing chance of steering compnents fouling chassis/ springs during articulation.

Quick thread steal, I've got a 75 series P/Arm on mine, but since my axle moved 4" forward, it's a little to long, say 2", will this be a problem with the draglink, or should I look for a 80 series arm.

Went back to wreckers today, we pulled of an 80 arm and there was stuff all difference in length , pulled of a 60, not much difference, Is it that the offset of the 80 that makes it shorter, I ended up grabbing a 60, as it drops down more, and allows me to set up cruiser style draglink.
Not out to prove anyone wrong, just updating on what I found today. ;)

is there any factory made tie rod that will fit after usign a double arm and a 80s pitman arm because i dotn want to buy the cromoly one cause i am to poor at the moment jus trying to see whether this can be done for less than 800 bucks cause that is what the wreckers are asking for standard power steering

i would have gotten the flatest one possible. on full compression, some times my pitman arm hits my spring pack

Yeah, but I run a 75mm dropped front, so plenty of room, but I'm planning on swapping the 60 for the 80 arm they had 2morrow, as with the flipped arm setup the tierod sits of to the right of the steering box, the 80 arm will be a better setup for this.

hmm, thats strange, I heard there are two types of pitman arms

the shortest readily available is the standard IFS pitman arm

I run the 80 series box in my rig.
found it easy to mount too.

it moves in the same ark as the high steer arm

works well for me :)
