I desperately need a windscreen for a 1991 sierra soft top. I have rung the wreckers and noone has any. There is no in the misc for sale. I was wondering if anyone would have a better idea on where i could get one. I am trying to avoid buying a new one.

JC, wheres that? Only in brisbane I'm guessing. I rang around $hitloads of places the cheapest I got was $110 just for the screen. Funny story though, I rang up obrien and they go $190 supplied and fitted, so I said okay whatever and left them. Plus they wouldn't just supply it without fitting it.

I wake up today, theres a message on the answering machine, "Oh hi, it's Wayne calling from Obriens just wanted to talk to you about that windscreen maybe we can help you out with price. Anyways I told em that I was gonna buy one for $110 and they go, we can supply and fit one for ya for $130. Amazing huh? Scam artists. They'll rip someone off at any opportunity charging top dollar, but as soon as they find out oh we might lose a customer then they do it for the right price.

That is exactly what happened to me. I rang head office and they told me $225 supply and fitted (also said would not just supply). I was like you have to be joking. Then I get a call back from a local shop and they said that they could do is $170 fitted. I mentioned i was going somewhere else who would just supply me with one and THEN they said 'oh we can just supply you with one for only $88'. Talk about bullsh**t, but its the cheapest price, so i thought i might as well take it. It is the Slacks Creek shop, Moss Street, Brisbane

Anyone know much about those plastic windscreen things that heaps of pirate guys use. I know they'd be illegal on road but would like to know more about them.

I know you can get them from a auto trim shop. They use the heavy duty plastic for boat canopies etc.
