Are we haveing ourselves on?
Why do we fly in the face of all things toyota/nissan and insist on driveing a supposedly inferior IFS vechicle?
After all it must be true, the aftermarket producers wouldnt lie to us,would they?
If IFS is so bad why is everyone else going this way?
Is a solid axle swap our only optiion?
OK if the Isuzu/Holden is so inferior, why do we bother?

Yes its a wet cold Sunday arvo and Im bored, but the question stands.

What do you call a Hilux with engine performance and a reliable and strong drive line.............RODEO.

Good topic Guzzi!

Personally I have found no reason why Isuzu hasnt been found to be competitive in the market. Every time I have been out 4x4ing with other vehicles mine has been amongst the most capable and I am sure that others can vouch for that . The IFS thing seems to be one of the things going against it but unless you are doing the tough truck challenge every second week then I don t see the point of a SAS. Dont get me wrong, I would love to have a SAS conversion on my Jack but I dont see the need at this stage. With a locker and lift/bigger tyres mine goes everywhere that I want It to. Basically as a rule solid axle is more capable but a lot comes down to driver skills and experience. Personally whenever I think that the Jack might not be up to scratch I am surprised with its abilities.

Every second person seems to own a Toyota or Nissan. I take pride in owning something a bit different and the Jackaroo has never let me down offroad apart from a blown CV on one of WA's most serious hillclimbs.

There seems to be endless aftermarket support out there for Toyota/Nissan but I reckon there is more satisfaction in building up something a bit different and if it suits your needs then how can you go wrong?
