thrust bearing?

when I press the clutch pedal and when i release it i hear a loud "Click" and its also only for the first 10 - 15 minutes of driving before everything fully warms up.

no definitive clunk, no grinding whirring bearing noise just a loud click coming from the transmission tunnel. so before i go and pay someone to suss it for me, is there anyone out there that can maybe give me any other options other than my first thought of thrust bearing.

Thanks
Simon

Half right. Nissans do have a spiggot bush. but that in no way replaces a thrust bearing (same shaft, different place) If it's not whining or whisteling it's probably not the thrust bearing. Could be that the clutch line needs bleeding. or worse, a new slave cylider (dont worry. brand new from nissan last time i checked was about $16. same as old datsun part)

maybe you could have a problem with the clutch plate splines not lining up perfect with the gearbox out put shaft so wen its engages and cold it just touches....... then wen warm the metal expands elliminting the problem.......
just a thought.

my clutch bearing is on way out in mine, it growls wen its cold

thanks.

it got lifted about 6 months ago and gearbox packers put in. but its strange its taken this long to come up??

hopefully its just the slave cylinder and bleed!

Cheers
