Outer Limits 4x4 Board

As my lady has a textiles business [export agent] and I live in the textiles manufacturing heart of Indonesia I am considering getting some top quality off road 'adventure wear' made up for sale overseas sale [US and Oz mainly ].

What features would you want in

A pair of off road trousers [other than stuff like inflatable crotch balloons and built in air compressor for that 'big fella' look ]

Shirts

Vest

Material will be 100% cotton and/or rip stop.

Similar to Camel adventure wear but more tailored for off road.

For example I was thinking zip up pockets, draw strings to seal the lower trouser leg and a foot loop so it tucks and stays in your boots [ stops bugs and spiders crawling up your legs ]

Probably start with shirts first though as this is easier.

BTW most of your Mambo stuff and other fashion labels are made here.

Thoughts ? Ideas ?

I think good size pockets are a must, waterproof would be even better. The main thing is the quality of the garment as long as it is good material and constructed well.

I would be serious about ordering a run of shirts with embroidery on the back etc for our club the only downside is it would be a short run of about 25 or shirts/vests.

Waterproof pocket for a mobile phone in the trousers or the shirt ?

I have a pair of Camel tousers.



The pockets are sealed with Velcro which have pulled away from the material and the button popped off - they are about 2 years old.

The sewing is pretty good, they have stayed together, and it gets worn a lot, pockets aren't secure though. Keep losing stuff and I drowned my mobile when I got bogged in a metre of water and forgot the bloody thing was in my pocket.

The Camel trousers have a zipper just above the knee so they can become a pair of shorts which I thought was a good idea.

both shirts and trousers. I have a camel shirt that has lasted me a few years now good quality heavy cotton. I also have a pair of heavy duty cotton pants that have a large pocket on the leg that is closed with a invisible zip along the seam.

Before the Camel trousers I used to wear a pair of RM Williams moleskins - a bit heavy for most people but these duds are 13 years old and still in great condition and most of the time they have been worn outdoors either when I was flying skydivers out of a paddock on the outskirts of Adelaide or off roading here in Indo.

They have been covered in mud - a good wash and a bit of bleach and good as new (almost).

I normally wear King Gees because their heavy weight cotton is relatively scrub and blackberry proof and would love to buy some trousers with the zip off legs in tha same heavy weight matterial. Most of the stuff I've seen is preety light weight.

I would like to see something that is "lined" so when it gets wet it does not stick your skin and make it hard to move. (kinda like some tracksuits have thatsuper light inner lining will move past the outer nylon shell without issue)

Make the sizes generous to fit the larger offroaders I have trouble getting stuff to fit well. For example one manafacturers size 7 is different to the next.

When you say the size 7 varies is it just tight or unwearable ?

The size 7 was just an example. Im 185 cm tall and 120 kgs so they are at times tight

maybe a colour other than cream would not show the stains so much (or if i stop doing dumb st*t than maybe the stains will go away!!)

I have found that one of my off road buddies makes army uniforms. He just finished supplying 10,000 uniforms for the Saudi Army.

Our first product will be off road trousers.

We are looking at light weight rip stop for summer trousers and semi canvas for winter.

Can you let me know typical waist sizes and leg measurements on the board so we can get some samples made up.

Looking for ideas for a clothing wear name also (joke names accepted also !)
