Well, I have been on the road for one week now. We did Gladstone to Barcaldine 700km on day one, then to Cloncurry 650km, then Karumba 400km, 2 nights in Karumba, then up to Musgrave 450km, then to Cooktown via Lakefield NP, with an aborted attempt to go to Cape Melville, about 400km.

The damage has been restricted to one stuffed rear shock, a radiator leak from poorly fitted electric fan, broken exhaust tip, which was half rusted through before the trip anyhow. The worst damage, which has caused a couple of day layover at Cooktown is the rear springs. The raised rears, which are Nissan C20 van springs, reset to give a decent lift, have sagged something cronic, basically, the shackles are laying flat backwards.
Fortunately, I have that set of new rear springs at home, which are currently in the mail up to here, where they will be fitted to get us under way again. But the fishing is crap while we are waiting.
