2 things,

1. Stop posting with caps on the 'net it is the same as shouting.

2. Not many engineers are going to give you free written advice online,

Look at the list in the above posts and make some calls - check out the subsided forum as well (google it) they make mini trucks out of 4runners hiluxs etc they will have engineers that can help them and you too.

1. IF I WANT TO TYPE IN CAPITALS I'LL TYPE IN CAPITAL .SHOUTING OR NOT.
2 . NOBOBY SAID I WANTED INFO FOR FREE.
3. I THOUGHT I WOULD POST THE QUESTION HERE TO FIND AN ENGINEER THAT WAS ACTUALLY INTO 4WDRIVING.
4. I KNOW THERE IS A SEARCH FUNCTION I HAVE USED IT PLENTY OF TIMES.IT WAS A GENERAL QUESTION TO SEE IF ANYONE PUT THEIR HAND UP I WOULD RATHER GIVE MY $$$$$$ TO SOMEONE WHO IS ACTUALLY GENUINELY INTERESTED IN HELPING RATHER THAN SOMEONE WHO IS JUST THERE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Nice thought on the local engineers to you but I think you are out of luck.

The thing with engineers is that they studied and make their living out of the advice and knowledge they provide and then they sign off on what you do or what is done ... but after all that if it goes pear shaped they are the ones that it comes back to haunt.

These days I think I would call around, talk to people and get a vibe as to what they think and whether they are interested in signing off on your work.

Other thing is - Play nice here or you will be joining the band. :finger:

Enjoy your stay here on OL

WHY DONT YOU TAKE SOME OF YOUR OWN ADVICE :finger: :finger: :finger:
I ASKED A LEGITAMITE QUESTION AND GOT NOTHING BUT DO A SEARCH OR DON'T TYPE IN CAPITALS WHO GIVES A TOSS ON HOW IT IS TYPED DOES IT REALLY MATTER THIS BOARD IS SUPPOSED TO TO HELP PEOPLE NOT BAG THEM AND PUT SH*T ON THEM IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY THAN DON'T SAY ANYTHING ITS THAT EASY.I KNOW THERE IS PLENTY OF ENGINEERS IN THE BRISBANE AREA AND SURELY THIS IS AT LEAST ONE WHO IS WORKING TOWARDS HELPING 4WDRIVERS AND MAYBE THERE IS EVEN 1 THAT USES THIS BB ON A REGULAR BASIS THATS ALL I WANTED TO KNOW NOTHING MORE OR NOTHING LESS.

There is a basic form of etiquette on the internet that says dont use caps. It's like yelling into people's faces.

This is a good place for info and people will help you if you have the appropriate attitude. If you start a flame war with everyone you'll find not only are you not welcome you'll be banned as well.

There are a number of places who can do what you want in Brisbane but while the SAS swap will be legal, many of the other mods already on your car NEVER will under QLD laws.

As such I'd suggest that you ask around a bit and assess whether or not you're prepared to take those risks and whether or not the mods you plan are appropriate for the type of vehicle you have.

Flame me if you want, IDGAF, but I've put forward help.

From here, it's up to you. But if you go to an engineer with that attitude, it's their career and years of their hard work and experience that's on the line when you try and blame them for "approving" or "recommending" your illegal mods.

If you can't accept this sort of constructive criticism on the net then you're in deep sh1t when it comes to facing QLD Dept of Transport for your post modification inspection.

From an engineering perspective the 253v8 would probably have to be run on straight gas to meet the emissions standards of a 1989 model car.

I'd assume this is the path you're taking since you've gotta ditch all the diesel stuff anyway.

As for some of the other mods, well we know why and the less said the better :D

the v8 i'm rebuilding to suit unleaded and fitting gas also, the body blocks will be reduced to 2' or taken out all together shouldn't be needed and the wheels well don't know there.suspension should be ok.

Rebuild to unleaded probably is gonna be very lineball. Whether it's enough to meet emissions considering it was diesel you might be able to scrape by on the emissions side but I dunno.

Is that the sort of problems you were having with the engineer or he just didnt feel like he wanted to do it.

It'd be good if he wad the same sort of engineers and engineering rules in QLD but the two go hand in hand I'm afraid.

Good luck with it all, if you do have to go straight gas get a secondhand kit and set her up, it won't cost much, there are heaps of threads here on gas and duel fuel but ask if you have questions .

Sounds like you have an action plan, hope you get it done and sorted
