1985 Patrol Ute, P40 with A/C, any pics?

Post by Spanners05 »

Hey,
Installing some A/C into a 1985 patrol ute with the P40 engine in it, can only get an L28 system locally, so I was hoping someone would have a piccy of the engine bay, just so I can see where all the bits went from factory. Hoping moslty the same as an L28, but I think the compressor might be on the other side?

cheers,
jeff.

all your evaporator and condensor etc etc stuff will all fit in the same spots. Even the compressor will be the same.

its just your compressor mounting bracket to the motor and the piping to it that may not fit nicely.... might need to lengthen pipes might need to modify the compressor bracket.......

id take a pic if i had a P40 ;)

Hi Jeff,

Mine fully kitted up with what you need, tell me exactly what you want in the pics and I'll take them for you probably tomorrow sunday at the very latest, either post here or PM me with what you require.

One problem in fitting the system from a L28 is that everything is on the wrong side, in that all your brackets will be arse about face and they will have different mounting points as the L28 and P40 are not even close to looking the same, but I will help out any way I can.
Cheers.....Steve
