Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Thinking about doing 33" on Rangie 83 (LT 95 and 4 gears/ 3.5 L carburator)
Will I need to adjust the gearing 4.11 CR&P
Truck will be used for mild off-roading

Bolt them on and see what you think will slow you down on road but not so much off road better of upgrading 3.5 than changing ring and pinion ha ha iknow plenty of people running 3.54 gearing and 35's with no drama's gearing wise but they all ahave larger motors.

Depeding on the high range gears that you have.
Its possible to swap them, they range from .99621 to 1.127 to 1.
If you had the .99621 set (can check by gearbox no.) the 1.127 would make it more drivable for less dollars than 2 cw+p's or larger motor.
It can be done insitu but its quite fidly even on the bench.
The gear sets should cost around $200.
I have just done this mod, got further info if you need it.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you running an LT 95?
The truck has 32" ET II now got them off my disco it has slown down just a bit but still driveable.
The 32" have slowed down the Disco more even tough it has a 3.9L injection.
I guess the LT 95 makes all the difference on the rangie(3.5L carburator)

As per workshop manual
On the rear of the transfer case just below and to the side of the filler plug
is the suffix number
Suffix A + B - 1.174:1
Suffix C -1.113:1
Suffix C from gearbox No.35594060 C - 1.123:1
Prefix 12C -0.996:1

If you think you can gain enough spread , as I said previously
.99621 to 1.174 would be a worthwhile gain. You can confirm the high range gearing by doing a tooth count on the high range (big) gear on the intermediate shaft (I have the numbers somewhere).
I have just rebuilt and installed an LT95.
Getting the intermediate gears into the gear box was a pain in the arse
but after a while I got the knack of it.(I did it on the bench)
If your not really familiar with gearboxes it may be worth it to farm it out to someone with experience in LR gearboxes.
