Autochoke

Post by endo »

I have a 86 Toyota Hilux Sr5 xcab (YN67) with a 4yc motor....

My autochoke is on the way out, does anyone know of an autochoke from a later model car that will fit? My mechanic can get an autochoke imported from Japan i think.. but its $250+

Thanks.

On the way out??. My mates 4y choke didnt work at all,i had a look and the coil had snapped. I had an 18r carb under the bench,so i took the electric choke setup off that and put it on his and away she went.
By the way $250 ???, you can get a brand new 4y carb for about $100 more.

To Quote the mech "The thermostate in the choke is weak"

He went to explain this is why the choke takes forever, if at all, to turn off.

Ahh excellent, hopefully he can get one off that. Which model lux is that?

Deleted item. Was imported I think.

The other option is a second hand jobby, rather a new one if I can.
