A-frame spacer dimensions

Hi all,

Need some advice on building an a-frame spacer.
Now I assume you need to make the height of the spacer equivalent to the suspension lift?
Eg. 3" suspsension lift, 3" a-frame spacer?
If not, how do you determine the height?

Secondly, should I space the lower mounting points further back so as to tilt the top of the diff back to restore pinion angle?
And how far apart should the mounting holes be to correct the pinion angle but not too far?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just like you wrote.

Thanks Michael, but what about the horizontal spacing between the mounting holes?
I.E. how far apart should each set of holes be horizontally to tilt the diff back?

what if you made a ball joint 35mm longer would this be enough for a 2 inch lift. i know that ruff and the guys have been breaking factory ones. but one made from en39 etc???????

I've broken welds for the ball joint mounting plate. If the ball joint were 35mm longer it would increase the loads/stresses in that area significantly.

I think the a-frame extension would be the better option.

Ditto. I've already had the mounting plate replaced with a thicker plate and more strengthening.
