if ya gonna weld upside down like that, its a good idea to wear some more protection............take that from someone that found out the hard way.........

other than that, the bar looks good

hey mate, nice work, just wondering if you had to take the tank out while welding that close, this is not a safety question, im looking at doing mine soon, and i was just going to throw a wet blanket over the tank just incase

If you need to brag about getting a bar you may have a disfunction.

Looks good..... but I'd still be a bit dstressed about showing people pictures of your bar.

The dude welding is not me its my mate who welds for a living. He was just welding in some rhs to bolt the bar to. Not necessary to remove the tank at all. I guess you could put up some sort of shield or something. Your right about welding upside down though it can be a bit of a hazard.

nice neat and simple.

will your towing point be strong enough? from the photo's it doesnt look to be attached by much.

how much flash burn does ya mate have on his arms? I only done a few runs without a jacket at trade school last week and my arms are crispy and peely this week

Its bloody strong!! The bar is bolted on in eight places and is heaps stronger than the original towbar. Its solid too, weighs over 60kg. We didn't weld the whole bar in that fashion so no flash burns. That was just putting in a couple of pieces of RHS, 2mins work.

Yeah last time I welded stuff in shorts I ended up with really bad flash burns on my legs.

It's like one hell of a case of sunburn.

In 40 degrees it's pretty hard to wear cover... sunscreen is the go.

By the way 60kg... geez that is solid.

The standard mounting points are pretty dodgy, but I suppose they're strong enough to support the standard dodgy bar ends.
