anyone here got a 4runner, and lifted it 2 inches...

planning on doing it in the next week or 2 and wanna know how much trouble ya went to... what could you get away with and what had to be modified!?

did you use a bought kit and was it better than making it all yourself?

If your talking body lift, its easy as. Just buy the blocks and then the bolts, you want 4x6.5", 4x5.5 and 2x5" for the front. For a manual you need to bend shifters a bit and remove one or two boots, on a auto all you have to do is bend the 4wd selector and remove one boot. Add a little fender seam pounding and your set for 33's

Blair, The 5" ones are for the front , I've got a 4runner so it will be different from a single cab although I recon the cab bolts would be the same. The easyist way is to pull the bolts and measure them.

Yeah its a piece of piss to do a body lift on a runner/hilux.

Just buy the blocks and bolts and done.

You dont need to modify anything like brake lines the only thing would be the steering arm from the box to the steeringwheel and if you have a bullbar you need to lift it aswell, which can be a bit tricky.

If you need to extend you steering shaft (depends on your model) you can either cut and weld or buy and extension from snake racing or big balls.

cut and weld is not legal by the way buy the extention.it will only cost you another couple of dollars. its a no brainer job though

I used a cut and welded one for about 6 months, then found one to fit from a 89 4 runner IFS.

I've done two, one on mine and another on a surf , all I had to do was extend the shaft under the tilt steering and then on the surf drill the bulkhead to relocate the bushing for the steering

16mm solid spacer with longer bolts in the guts of the rag joint, and punch out the two lugs & replace with sleeved bolts.
