Evening all,
im just about to start fitting my 7mge to my hilux and im trying to source some hiflow low cost PUSHER fans. Can anyone suggest any or can i buy some pullerfans (Au falcon etc) and mod them to push? Is this possible?
Also do you think a hilux diesel radiator would be enough to keep this motor cool (i go to the beach a fair bit, soft sand)?
Cheers
SASS

the radiator from a 2.8 aussie hilux should be ok as is is a fair size core .
as for the fan you should be able to just reverse the conectors for the fan and it will spin in the opposite direction

Depends on the blade design of the fan. From most electric fans i have seen they are designed to be most efficient spinning in one direction only. So the fan should just be mounted in front of the radiator facing the same direction as it is behind.

i think you'll have trouble fitting fans from an au they're pretty wide. Get a price from a parts shop I picked up 2 10" fans for $200 only cheap repco ones but the move heaps of air. To cahnge them from push to pull they just need the blades flipped over and the wires reversed

Thats what i was thinking but arent the fan blades moulded in a way that they loose nearly all effiency when spun backwards?

reverse the motor and reverse the fan blades, I've got a vp commo fan working as a pusher this way.

Most fans are reversable. Just undo the nut and reverse the fan on the shaft. Then mount the fan on the front of the radiator.

most of the davies/craig aftermarket fans are reversible, just one nut or clip and the fan blade can be flipped. some factory ones can be, others not - spend a few hours at the wreckers looking for what you need. The other current thread on thermo fans is worth a read, too - interesting arguments from both camps (thermo and engine driven, and some things you will need to think about to get good cooling.
