chev large dia or holden 10" fly wheel

can any one enlighten me, if there is any difference between chev large dia and a holden 10" fly wheel (Eg VN)
The VN flywheel is much lighter and as a result is not a favourite with engine converters & or the manafacturers of conversion kits.
A std V8 ( ex red or blue motor ) can easilly be redirlled to suit the chev crank stud pattern.
