Hey
Well the sound ended up being a broken centre diff cross shaft?
Any idea what could have caused this breakage. I tought LT 230 were among the most durable.
Could it be from the 36" tyres?
I will post up some pics tomorow how much should they be to fit on this forum 50 K?

yes it is the T-case center diff shaft that broke....is it common on rovers?
Have any one of you upgrade it?
I ve never spun tyres with diff lock not engaged could it be from slow crawl (1st low 4.75 ratio)?

From memory Mike Smith blew a centre diff at Ateco a few years back, or it might have been Roger, not sure.
Anyhoo, as an aftermarket is available, it must be a weak link!
Another alternative, go part time, as you replace the centre diff in the conversion process.
And if you damage any other front end components while you're wheeling, you can unlock hubs, go 2wd and drive home.
