front axle forward

i got spoa with a highsteer, now i wana move the front axle forward, if i redrill the spring perches i will only get about 25 mm, it would be cool to go a bit more though, how would i go about it? and lets say u go 2 inches forward, should u use 2 1inch spacers for the tailshaft?, one at the top and one at the bottom, or could u use just one 2 inch spacer?

U would also have to move the steering box and extend the shaft i think
Don't know on the legal or safety side but.
Maybe moving the spring perches to move the whole springs forward or use springs with a offset centring pin.
I think moving the axle by the perches only the draglink is very close to the other arm.(steering arm?).

Its this great invention that Tim hardy tried back in the day when huckleberry finn was paddling down the mississippi, that revolutionized the the front dif location on a zuk. He had a thought, and went to work with a hack saw and stick welder. The next day god...oops I mean Tim hardy stood back and said. Now golly ladies and gent's I thinks I have done it! And That was the beginning of the revolution. It is now simply called Ruf, which is short for Rears up front.
Have a search, I think this will help you out.
A 1" spacer should be enough

forgot about that. i have it as well but no chassis ext.
still gotta look out for the drag link kissing the steering arm i think. Chistova had some tips for that somewhere.

What steering did u use? SPOA histeer?

I am going to call BS, how did you get it that far forward with just a ruf, did you extend the chassis as well?
I know your new one is that far forward.
Has anyone got some pictures of histeer to add to this?

mine is 3 inch fowards
and i reckon it could easily go an extra 1.5 inches without moving the steer box

redrill perches (toy perches are alot longer the zuk ones)

I'm in the process of doing this right now, the perches I bought have two holes, a centered one and one an inch back. I just put the spring pin in the center one cause I figured if it hits the back on the spring, it will hit the front on the spring too. I have hammered my arches so I'm not sure which is better. Looking at a pic it doesnt look like it would be better an inch forward, what do you think?

do u have to do a chassis extention for ruf? or could u use big shackles?, also does ruf make a big difference to flex etc.
I have one set of stock springs (sagged) on spoa now, but have 2" lifted springs sitting here from a few months back, so what ideas could u guys throw at me with this info.
Also to move diff forward could i redrill springs and put the pin off-centre? or is this a bad move??

Keep in mind the clearance between the drag link and the tie rod when you move the diff to far forward without moving the box or adding high steer.
There are a few zooks in the Vic Zook club that have this done (standard RUF) the two steering rods just touch. Go too far and you will put too much stress on the linkages.

i have hi steer already
So how much does ruf lift the car, if i used stock ruf and 2"lifted rears in the back would my car be level?
Anyway you guys know all the springs i have now so what do u recomend for me to do?
