so the MQ has a bit of cancer in the chassis where the front passenger side spring hanger attachs....

i've combed all over the rest of the chassis and from what i can see the rest of it is ok - and given the age of it i dont know that if i got another chassis it'd be any better.

which means i need to get it sorted - im game to try most stuff but cutting and welding my chassis gives me the fear.

anyone done it? anyone reccomend anyone around brisbane to do it?

can you just plate the section or do you need to chop it out and weld in an entirely new section?

can't say i've tried too hard but tapping at it with a screwdriver doesnt go right through.... it seems to be flaking a bit - no holes in it yet (but i havent hit it with a grinder)

you could treat it with a rust converter. but if ya gonna do this, do the inside aswell, and then keep the chassis rails clean...........
