Oil pressure drop...'96 XJ

Was wheeling in the bush up the South Burnett last weekend when I noticed the oil pressure slowly drop on my '96 Cherrokee, the sender unit under the distributor was leaking oil...lost about half a sumpfull (Synthetic @ $13 a litre!!)...cant for the life of me see how it can leak but a new sender fixed it ($80), the oil was coming out the end where the electrical connection for the wire to the gauge comes out!!....whole bottom of the Jeep is covered in Mobil 1........may help the rust!!!
