TD42 Fuel Pump Q ...

We have a little electrical problem with a rotary pump on a TD42, there are 2 magnetic valves, one on top of the pump and one on the back of it, we dont know if the one on top shall have power on start up only or always (engine running)
There is also a vacum? thingy on the side of the pump, where does it get it's vacum from ? There arent that many TD42´s around so we cant just look at another ... any help would be apriciated !

Back one is the fuel valve, power on with ignition.
Hose (I assume a Turbo diesel??) goes to pressurised inlet for aneroid.
2nd switch??

vacuum thingy is probably the idle up for the air conditioning? on the side of the pump, with a little adjusting screw on the back.
the electric thing on the top of the pump might be a tach sensor?

tacho sender is located near the water pump in front of the cam gears.

without it... your car will continue to run even with the ignition off

So both solenoids should be turned on and off with ign. ?
I feel like a complete idiot

The solenoid on top is for providing a higher internal pressure when activated. This then gives more timing advance. Generally only used in cold start situations. Leave it diconnected. It wont do any harm. The one with the blue wire is your stop solenoid.
Is your vehicle a grey import?

Thanks
It is an European car, originally from DDR.. It was imported to Denmark last year and stripped for engine and gearbox. Now a friend of mine has bought it an sourced a new engine and gearbox for it, the old engine had a different diesel pump, so there is a little wiring to be done

Where do the fuel lines go to and from. It may be a damper of sorts. Without seeing more plumbing is hard to tell. Take some more pics for me.
