Trouble is that people have been brainwashed into thinking that you shouldn't use a winch smaller than 9000lbs. But yeah I sold my magnum (warn budget brand) 9000lbs for $600 and bought a high mount for $700

I bought a High mount about 2 years ago for $350.
The problem is there are so many other cheap winches available now that selling a Second Hand winch is getting hard. There is an 8000pound Low Mount Warn on Ebay at the moment for a little over $200.

I found two on ebay still to reach $300, though they look crap and old, both have missing parts.
ARB price new $1562
True to the aboth statement that now there are plenty of manufactors of winchs with prices under a thousand with a WARRENTY.
There is also a demand for winches which are more water tolorable.
I bought a WARN XD9000 for $875 which was only used a couple of times and had been rebuild by ARB (water damage) just before I purchased it. The cost of the rebuild was $500.
I'd say if it is in excellent condition and complete and you have receipts for the rebuild $650-$700 is around the price.
Tough I'm not the Buyer.
Maybe I payed to much, but I'm pleased with my purchase as I was looking at buying one new for $1500+.

It actually works perfect. I bought it from a Wrecking Yard.

My 8000lb Hi mount cost me a trailer full of spare parts ( which were actually junk to me but what the hell ! )
My 9000lb low mount cost me a grand new......
My plasma rope cost me $400......
The way I look at it I've got 2 winches for $1400 and a shyte less cwap in the loft
Maybe its time to off load the 38" swampers I dont use anymore

It didnt come from who you are thinking. It was a yard in Brisbane and i was just in the right place at the right time. I didnt even need a winch. I still have never used it. I couldnt say for sure if they got another i could get it at the same price.
