Crusier v Patrol cons?

Ok people, I'm after the cons from both the Cruisers (60/80 series) and Patrols. For example Patrols CVs don't go well running in reverse.

I have not asked for the pros of each as I am more interested in faults to get an idea on what would suit me best as far as what I can fix/afford and what I could live with.

It would be good to hear from owners of each as this will give me more of the facts and less of the rivalry between the marques.

60's: Weak front CV's compared to 80's CV's
Leaf Springs
Rear Drum Brakes

80's: Weak Hi-pinon front diff
Constant 4wd saps power on road (although you mod this)

I am sure there are other things

Mate NO cvs like being reversed while locked up..... especially if you are trying to reverse up a hill

If anything the patrols would stand you best

GQ: Semi-Floating rear diff. Therefore if you snap a rear axle, you are not moving anywhere until you fix it. Cruisers have full floating rear diff's & they can be driven on, even with one or both rear axle(s) snapped.

Toyotas cost too much. Toyotas are weak. Unless you have lots of money buy a GQ.
