Hey, has anyone replaced a 2.6 petrol engine in a 1994 4x4 Triton Dual Cab with the 3.0 V6?

no but have put in a 3.8com v6 in a 92 triton ,was a bit of stuffing around but it f@#$ing flys now

cant remember to the last cent but about $3000,my mate and i did most of it ourselfs

Why?
Personally, for all the trouble of an engine swap, I wouldn't bother with the Pajero 2 valve 3.0 V6. A good rebuild of the 2.6 will outperform the stock Paj 3.0, without the hassle of an engine swap. If you're thinking the 4 valve 3.0 the hassle might be more worth while.
The Commodore V6 will be better offroad, as it has bucketloads more torque, and spare parts for the engine will be easier to find.
If you stick with all Mitsubishi parts a Mitsubishi dealer may be more inclined to perform repairs. Once it's a mongrel you may find assistance harder to obtain.

If you install the Commodore V6 with an aftermarket wiring loom hooked up to a factory computer you should not find sevice much trouble.
Most mechanical workshops are equiped to service Commodores these days.
You must stay with the factory computer though.
