got 33s?

Post by jcianci »

Okay i have heard that 33s are really pushing it when it comes to the durabilty of samurai axles, but if i were to put them on, what would be some of the best ways to keep them in one piece? Like i have heard that reversing full lock up hills is bad news. Im guessing lockers will compound the problem. Can anyone give examples of what size tyre they were running and how they broke it? I think it may come in handy.

I htink you should ask do you have enough wheelbase for 33's.

It can get pretty hairy on those size tyres and standard WB

Let me guess…. Back in the day when I was a young lad I ran 35 claws with stock WB, Although I never left the ruts and the tires measured more like 32, it was perfect. :finger:

WB = stability, thats all I was trying to get across Guy.

And I was trying to wind you up

Seeing as most 33's (other than claws) do measure about 32's .. yep it was perfect ..

I didn't notice any real stability issues for most wheeling purposes where I did have wheel base related stability issues other SWB Zuks with smaler rubber were having similar issues, I did have a marginally extended wheelbase.

And I left ruts .. sometimes I drove it on the road as well .. :D :D
