!00 series airbags

My airbag light stays on , has anyone had the same problem ?

Haven't had this problem but I have read the manual and it says thats there is a system malfunction. Should go out after six seconds of engine starting. I know that high pressured air (air blower) aimed at the plastic surrounds of the front seats of an a airbag equiped commodore will set the airbag malfunction light off.

Yes i have the owners book and yea i know its a malfunction of some sort .

Spoke with a mate who is a mechanic for Toyota & he said take it to your dealer ASAP, a malfunction could see the air bag not operate when needed most or worse, activate for no reason at all.

once the airbag ecu logs a code the light will stay iluminated untill the code is cleared/ problem resolved. A code could be something as simple as remove instrument cluster with ign on and air bag ecu seeing an open circuit in the warning lamp circuit and logging a code. Will take a dealer 2 minutes to plug their inteligent tester 2 scan tool in to tell you what set it off and why.

Thanks for the advice guys , i guess i will have to take it to a dealer to reset it .
