Advice needed on turbo's

hey guys i've been looking at turboing my patrol its a VN 5.0L the reason im not supercharging is i reackon i can get the turbo set up done cheaper as i know blokes who can make up manifolds etc
also i will be having a pretty low gearing as well so a turbo i figure would be ok my question is one turbo or twin and what size turbo and where can i get them etc any info would be great

have you considered a rotary supercharger? you can buy reco blowers from CAPA and to set it all up, IMO would probably cost the same as a turbo, and you would have more power down low. A new kit would come in at about 4 grand i guess......... plus a new mod chip.

there is serious grunt to be had with alot of coin hence the reason im going down this turbo route i can get it done on the cheap or at least i hope :roll:

small turbo = boost comes on earlier

larger turbo = boost comes on later..

why not...

pair of rx7 turbos (t25's)

flip your exhaust manifolds (stock ones) around the other way

make up flanges on the turbos to suit your stock exhaust flanges

run the dump pipe to under the turbo and straight out the back.

pic of a guy that i knew did the conversion and told me the info..

a pic of his set up would be great mate how much did he pick up the rx7 turbo's for i will prob get second hand ones also did he have to do anything to the motor (internals) to handle the turbo's
