Feroza & Feroza II compatability

Hey there people,
Just picked up my Feroza on the weekend, what a little beast! Feroza 1 EL-X, few things to fix up but got it for the right price ($3000). Anyways im also lookin at a Feroza II 1994 with 2 engines and all the bits and pieces i need. I would assume most of the parts, brakes, wheels, some body pieces, would be interchangable but thought id see what you blokes think about that. Sounds like i also need this black box on top of the engine (air induction chamber). Been a big Daihatsu fan for a while now, last 2 cars have been a TS charade and a G102 (1.3) charade. Never ever had any problems in the slightest over 5 years. My old man also has had an F20 for the last 15 years and same deal.
Anyways cheers for the respsonse and hope to see you all round.

Cheers
Rob

Axles, CV's, possibly even diffs are different between the models as the Feroza2 is wider (by about 3inches).

Engines should be the same tho...

It has two engines? Wow that thing would rock!

Just kidding, not a bad find at $3000.

Shhh thats the one im lookin at dont tell everybody ;) Id have to find a way to get it from sydney to canberra, but could use the wheels and tires, engines, black box on the engine, exhaust, and any features my car is lacking. Seems like a pretty good deal would be a good way to get started into the whole 4wd feroza deal.

Can anyone give more info on the diff compatability? I do have a noise coming from the rear left end on 1st gear acceleration (hard) and right hand turns (hard through roundabouts), going to check the oil and change on the weekend, hoping its not a bearing or anything else.

And also what about the bumper bars and wheel arches i wouldnt mind getting them on there either, almost look like a series II :)

Mate you might as well do things the other way around and just put all the good stuff from the narrow track into the wide track and be done with it.

If your going to put the wide track flares on a narrow track you'll have to put the widetrack suspension/diffs/driveshafts/wheels as well or you'll look like a tool.

I'd be trying to build up the Feroza II like Dave said.

Diff centres are supposed to be the same for both, so you should be able to build a good one out of both.

damm.. sorry Rob, you said a 1994 and the ebay ad said 1996 so i thought it was a different one. I did think about not putting it here just in case that was what you were looking at.

I would go check the car out first. its too cheap atm. Why doesnt he just put it back together and sell it for a few thousand more.
I'm in hunters hill almost every second day so i can have a look at it if you want. BUT i am not a mechanic and i dont offer any money back gurantee :)

Yeah i saw it was a 1996 too... Oi and dont worry bout only jokin in that post, ebay is a public thing :) Thats all good i could still use the wheels and tires, exhaust manifold and possibly the diffs... I was also after the front disc rotors, but ordered in a slotted set for $100 a side :) I dont know what his story is, but the way i see it, you bid on it, go out, and if he hasnt told the truth about the car, you dont hand over the cash... easy... dont really care if they give you a negative feedback or anything you can respond to them.

Don't know about the front, but the rear bumpers mount differently between the narrowtrack and wt.

Found it out the hard way myself... :bad-words:

nothing a nice big hammer didn't solve though.
