What have others done when installing the vitara
pwr steer setup into a 1.3lt sierra. What pulley have you used as the vitara pump is serpentine and the sierra is single v type....

Is there a pulley that can be used or have others used a toyota type pump when doing the conversion?

my swift/barina engine uses multi v belts, which I believe are same as vitara. It also has a duel pulley, which will be for my ps in future. if thats any help. water pump is different, tho, so not real sure how transferable it is to sierra blocks... I had toget stevie g to make an adaptor boss for the fan, as swifts dont use them .. but harmonic balance pulley is transferable.
the alternators on swifts are better, and less dirtied than sierra type. pulleys aren't transferable, tho, I tried.

Hi James,

my suggestion would be to hunt around to find another box that you can use instead... for example - the humble ford falcon came in various different belts i believe, and the same is true of the holden commodore.

these items are pretty cheap from a wrecker, then you can just sell off your vitara pump to someone with a vitara?

good excuse for a Vitara engine conversion.

Can you just change the pulley on the pump to a v belt?

I have a double V pulley on a Sierra motor sitting in my garage, so yep they must do.
