ARB COMPRESSOR WOES.

one thing i have noticed with my rear ARB.

When car stalls the air from the compressor is released and the locker disconnects....... i figure because this compressor is wired through the inigtion as per the instructions. i figure everone as connected their compressor through a perminate power scorce after they have experienced their car halfway up a hill, stall then jerks back as it is no longer locked.

am i right? is this the only solution, which wire should i disconnect and reconnect on the ARB loom?

I thought there was meant to be a valve in the line to hold the pressure... but I don't have ARB lockers so I could be wrong.

why would this happen, you shouldn't need to turn the ignition OFF to restart the vehicle :?

installers often follow ARB's instuctions (believe it or not) and wire them to ACC, so when you turn the key to re-start, it lets go - most vehicles disconnect the ACC line at the key when the key is turned to 'start' to provide maximum voltage/current to the starter. it's pretty easy to fix, just wire all the power wires to B+.

hmmmmmm :? interesting.....why do arb stipulate this in the diagram :?:

preservation of compressor i quess. if the compressor can be turned on without the key in the ignition (turned to accessories) then anyone can start stuffing around with your compressor and burn the thing out.

My compressor gets it main power from the Main batt. But the relay switching is powered off my aux, why cos that bit of wiring was already in a good spot.

As since I have a GQ patrol with the hand break on the rear of the x-fer case. If in 2wd and I lift a wheel the car rolls forward due to how diffs work, does same thing in 4wd if crossed up bad.
So it used to be when I would hit the starter it unlock the lockers then re activate them after the car started. Causing abit of shock loading.

Where as now it is permanatly activated no more issues. Except for the fact it is possible to turn the compressor on with out the keys in the ignition. Hasnt been a problem yet.
