80 series body cracks

anyone experienced cracks in the body. Looking at mine I have cracks at the very back at the top corners of the rear door - both sides. The C pillar is ok and free from cracks.

check out the tech pages on www.lcool.org.....yours has obviously seen some rough tracks

My 80 belonged to a surveyor that worked at Olympic Dam in SA, so it did most of its first 130k on red dirt. It has cracks in the rear corners of both doors, where the gutter ends. They haven't grown noticeably at all in the past 7 years (another 130k) so I'm not concerned at all.
The lower lock mechanism on the big rear door had rusted due to a leaking washer tube, so the whole door was only being held by the upper lock. The loop was badly worn. I replaced these shortly after I bought it, so maybe this was the cause of the cracks.
%$#@$ still squeaks though

To get peace and quiet, wrap electrical tape over the steel round thing the latch grabs up top.
Toyota sell a $75 plastic coated one to stop the caneries
Alternately buy some silicon spray and each time you open the door, spray the latch a bit.

I dont hold back. I've done alot of dirt roads up here. All my back door latches are stuffed and need replacing too

my 4runner has the same cracks above the rear door wouldn't be to worried bout it it's only caused by the body twisting (i think the roof and rear quarter joins there)

but when it rains it lets water into the car and down into the cargo area, which has in turn rusted out the two bottom corners of the floor. It has pretty severe cracks, I can move the back section of the roof about 1-2mm at the crack!!!!

I'll try this. But my small rear door comes slightly open when I drive over anything rough. It won't swing open or anything but you have to push on the large door for the small one to unlatch and swing open.
Anyone have any clues as to why this happens?
