can anyone tell me if its worth puting a 1litre tranny case in my 1.3 or just wait till I get the cash for Rock hopper? (and eat clutches for a bit longer) if it is worth doing do I just make up adapter plates for the front output and input flange? And are 1litre diff ratios the same as the 1.3?

you can drop the 1ltr case in and swap over the flanges from my understanding. this will give you a little bit of reduction.

then when you got the $$$ put the rockhopper into your 1.3 case and swap the flanges back.

id wait and get the rock hoppers i believe the 1litre diff ratio's are lower, in stead of eating clutches go cheap and change your diff ring and pinions i bought set of 5.12 today for $380. thats with frieght , if thats to low go for 4.5's what mods are you running?

I have pulled mine out and went to put the 1 litre in but the spines for the flanges are different in the front out put and the input

1 litre case is a worthwhile swap, give 12% reduction in hi & lo

you can also change 1/2 the uni yoke for the 1.0litre type as they use same size unis, just internal clips. you may have a very early 1litre case which are different, but I thiawt flanges were interchangeable

When we where building the butterbox we played with the idea to change the input flange to 1.3lt size due to the fact it mated to the CV better but the splines where different.

Note we are using an 82 1lt tansfer case. Joey had a leter model case and the 1.3lt flange swapped over no prob's.

My opinion is keep the 1.3lt transfer weld the diffs put on 33in tyres and install a diesel

cheers
