Widetrack Sierra offset/backspace suggestions

Quick question, what backspace do people use for their sunnies (roh track 215 x 8). I assume that backspace is the distance from the back edge of the rim and offset is the difference from the original centre position. Is this correct?

Yeah it is. Most people go for the most offset, which are f100 rims or cj5 rims.
My last rig used custom backspacing which was 1 ½ inch’s. This is great for stability but is a bit of stuffing around getting the centres cut out and rewelded. Also has added wear on the bearings.

if its not your daily driver, how long does it take to kill your bearings?

depends on is it a narrow track or wide track, condition of bearings, type of wheeling you do, size of tyre, how you drive it, how often you grease it and retighten them

How does WT or NT make a difference? Does one have stonger bearings?

narrow tracks seem to have a better bearing design and offset wheels on a narrow track don't put as much leverage onto things as they do on a wide track
