OK... so I've got the alternator off the car... now... how do I pull it apart to clean it???? :?

Edit:... and more to the point... how do I test it works without putting it back in again :roll:

If the alternator is original, see the manual, it has a very good set of instructions on exactly how to do this. If you don't have a copy, I can send you 'section CH - Charging system' via email (~430kb)

You've just reminded me, that I never got around to replacing my alternator after it's last 'field' repair, and that was more than a year ago. :)
