they are too expensive for what they are worth, thast my opinion i would invest in a batterd LWB nd put a coil cab body on it, thats theway if u r going to build up a compcar from scratch, the lowest price GQ coilcab i could find was 13k,

you could also just shop up the body on lwb as well :)

Coil cabs were released in 1992 not 1994.

Chopping up a LWB could well work out cheaper and you'd probably end up with a less abused vehicle.

On the other hand there's a diesel coil cab in the FS section at the moment, I just noticed.

I no where your at mate, ive had 4 patrols, 2 wagons, two utes, all coils. i still have a 97 ute which is petrol, i wanted to turbo it, but i bought it as a carby so i bought a complete injection system to put on it and air conditioning, i bought the car for 18,000, so by time i bought the injection and air-con it ended up being 20,000, granted the ute is in brand new condition it has really low kays, i put really soft racer gear suspension in it and a custom made 4 inch snorkle plus a bigger exhust and 36 simexs. i also put in a 110 alternator as i put a high mount winch and a bus battery under the tray, it wasnt long before i spent neally 30 grand on it and the injection is still not put on. so i would say as im a tall bloke, a would buy a wagon with injection then chop it down into an extra cab as then you keep the wagon seat runners, and cab room for your belongings. the ute is for sale for 20 with the simexs or 18000 with out, which probabl dosent help u but i would buy a wagon and go the direction as converting it to a extra cab or what ever would be around the same price i paid for the ute buy it self. hows that for a novel...
