Vitara Question
Do Vitara's have a solid front end? ie. not IFS. If so does anyone know the track width of them on the front. Failing this what is the track width of a Sierra Front end.
Thanks in advance.
Dave.

Vitaras have IFS. No Solid axle variants exist anywhere in the world (except those people have made).
Sierra front end swaps have been done before, but a sierra front end is a lot narrowe.
A Jimny front axle might be better, or coily sierra which are both wider than a widetrack.
Bundera seems the most sensible swap since coils and all line up.

Ok. Then he's looking in the wrong spot.
Why isnt he looking at a early rocky?

he was thinking zook front end because.... i don't know... but there seems to be a fair bit more aftermarket support for the zooks, plus newer running gear (if a vit or coily sierra worked)

With ferozas being 5.29:1 the only similar gearing he'll find is available in toyota diffs.
Rocky diffs may be able to take R&P from feroza I dont know.
If not, then he'd need to swap both (couldnt run lux diffs and have 5 stud and 6 stud).
Considering the weakness of the feroza bits then I think lux is the go. Also about the only diff you can get easy that can get ratios that short.
Bundera...

Just outa curiosity then, what ratio are the Bundera diffs?
If one were to swap the front, would it necessitate a rear swap also (due to the ratios being different)?

If the ratios are different then yes. if not then you may get out of it with only the front. Remember the 5 stud / 6 stud differences.

Bundera are 4.88 but there are 5.12 toyota diffs available.
Having said that, it'd only be a temporary solution on that gearing... stock gearing pulling 31"+ tyres sucks....
