Also the same PCD as Ford F100 5 stud wheels. and even -gulp- the same as Niva.

Hi Guys, I'm new to Daihatsu, but not to offroading, and hence my question.
I have a few sets of 6 stud rims which I would like to be able to use on my Toyota Blizzard/Daihatsu Rugger.

Anyone converted theirs?

Couple of my thoughts were either re-drill to 5 stud, i.e. multi fit rims, or a converter/spacer type adapter.

I take it switching hubs is too much work, especially for rigid axles(?)

thanks.

you could redrill them i guess. but another opotion is to have different centers put in the rim then you could have a huge offset done at the same time so you can fit bigger tyres!

what year is your blizzard?

is it deisel?

and does it have disk brakes on the front?

cheers

Thanks for your reply.

My Blizzard is a 1986 2.5 Diesel turbo. disc brakes front and drums rear.

My first thing would be to swap the buggered springs and allow me to fit my larger AT tyres 31x10.5 and a set of SAT 7.60x16 onto it.
They're sagging really badly.

I would also like to fit a front mounted intercooler, and swap my 3 inch exhaust from my buggered van onto it.

I'm on a very tight budget, so I think I'll redrill, as my welding isn't that good.

I'm guessing you are not in Aus.

It would be better to buy some new rims with 5 studs. re drilling the old 6 stud rims will not work, let alone be safe as some holes will double up or even elongate without alllowing the wheelnut to solidly lock onto the taper in the mounting hole in the rim.

Switching hubs is also not an option.

visit your local Ford F100 wrecker, you may find some splitties there.
They were available in the seventies with split rims in 15" 16" and 16.5"

sweet! so ur blizzard is basicly the same as a daihatsu F20 right?

cause im hoping that the knuckle joints on the front axel are the same so i can have disk brakes on the front, cause drums all round is a pain in the ass!

im hoping it will be a straight swap!

oh ok. thanks guys

its just that ive seen at a wreckers before what i thought was an F20 but when i took a closer look it had toyota badges on it, and it said blizzard on it. and had a deisel engine. sorry about the mix up.

i should go back to that wreckers and have another look cause from memory is had disk on the front as well.

does the F20 resin top have disk brakes on the front? cause i swear that ive seen one here in aus with em on.

but then again maybe im just goin crazy! :silly: :turn-l:

yeah, my resin top has disks up front. but I guess all the models of 83/84 have disks up front, I'v also got a pile of parts that was once a sofftop and it has also disks. It seems that with the introduction of the 2.8 na diesel the also converted the whole range to disks.

BTW the f20/50/60 body shell was also used prior to 85 (?) and rebadged to a Toyota Blizzard. It had the 2L diesel
