Hey again
Got my black box with no piping, or mounts... If anyone has a picture of the top of the engine, the piping angles and lengths, would be very appricated!
Ive got it on very bodgily with 1 bolt holding the whole setup... Does anyhting else need to be modified to get this baby on?
Ill go purchase some piping on the weekend if i get a chance
Cheers
Rob

Yes the brackets certainly would be a help... im not sure i have that hole in between the spark plugs tho... may need a custom job on this one... i could certainly use the piping tho, any idea where to get some other than out of a feroza cos their are none round here in canberra wrecking that i know of

Its good for another 100 BHP!
No, seriously it slightly improves the torque curve of those HDE engines.
About 92 onwards I think is when Daihatsu started using them.

Ferozaman -
Check out this one-
http://www.warfs.org/content/view/19/51/
They did a dyno,
one with the standard air system and black box,
one with the Ram Pod and black box
one with the Ram Pod and NO black box (what i currently have)
For on road, the standard air system is very restrictive (and doesnt work very well without the black box, check out the bump in the torque curve on the standard setup WITH black box!)
Damned interesting how this thing works, noone believes me around here that this box would do anything but theres the proof.
Eh bugger it heres the dyno chart, i added text on what each colour arrow is too...

There's a blurb in the Service Manual with a small torque curve diagram that explains how it improves torque at low revs.
