This has nothing to do with the 5 link but i did notice that you said you Planned on running MQ running gear!
Do you already have all the parts if not i thought this might interest you!

Just use the MQ LWB transfer case, as it is divorce mounted, so you can use any engine and gearbox you want, and just make up a custom jack shaft to suit. MQ axles aren't real wide, an 80 series rear would work well as it is roughly the right offset, and a GQ/GU or 80 series front...

As far as suspension goes, I can't remember what the G60 chassis looks like, but it is pretty stout and roomy, and should be pretty good to build on... HEAPS of room for cutting the body for big tyres, too. You could pretty much run whatever wheelbase you wanted and just hack the body to suit.

How strong are the MQ transfers compared to a GQ? What are the spec's?

don't know a great deal about them, but they are a pretty beefy looking unit. Not very good ratios, though - 2:1ish. If someone made gears for them they would be a good option for custom use, being divorced and all..
I was going to use one in my G60 behind a Ford EFI six & auto, but that little project has fallen by the wayside...

Ok fair enough i carnt spell but if it was me i think i would buy a rolled GQ OR GU and retro fit all the running gear in to the G60 coils and all .That would be a good truck or just get a suzy.

Complete body swap is the go. the G60 body onto a short GQ chassis with the rear axle moved back about 150mm will fit 44's with standard coils and hacked guards. I measured it all up and set it up on paper a year or so ago..

Pics of what? I never did it!
I tried to stick to the topic, but I can't get a picture in my head of where the bends in the chassis lie.
I know the rear will work fine with a 4-link or a-frame, and there would be room tyo run the coils between the rails, typical nissan style, but I am pretty sure the front doesn't narrow down enough to get a coil between the chassis and the tyre's arc of travel? Maybe if the upper link was inside the chassis rail there would be enough space for a coil -over. But he MQ front axle you want to use has a massive fat salisbury style casting in the guts of it, so I think you will have issues trying to run a link inside the chassis width on the drivers side.

yeah, I did it in CAD 14 at home, pretty basic, but accurate.. I'm not sure if it was lost in "the great accidental formatting of 2002" I'll have a look..

Yep I have all the MQ/K body styles in the factory manual I scanned that picture from.
That pic is of the Model 61 Canvas Top, which in all the other pics looks exactly like a G60 to me??

do you have any of the bits for this yet? I have a mate with a 308 and MQ box etc in a G60. also has the MQ diffs and 33" bfgs. it needs putting together. he would part with all this for about $2500. if your keen call Caig on 0413 731 886 and he can tell you more about it. they truck is in Brisbane.

Check out how much closer the rear wheel is to the door on the short one.

Well I'll be, I never knew there was a long and a short wheel base G60. You learn something new every day.
My manual doesn't have any info on the SWB...

the G60 came out in 3 differant wheel bases
long, mid, and short
i used to have a mid/WB great old truck but the motors dont like running on angles, like big step hills and i ended up blowing 2 motors, but a mate of mine in Melb used to have one with the coil and leaf setup the thing used ride great
