lift and rear stabiliser

I'm gonna fit a 3" lift to my GQ wagon soon and am wondering what to people do with their rear stabilser - extend it or rip it out? I have the model with the factory disconnect.

I want to know the same! I can't see an easy way of keeping this on as you can put a longer pin on one side, but what about the side that has the factory disconnect on it?

Will probably just pull mine out.

I used to just cut and tube sleeve both sides. front too.
Also some Navara ones are about 3" longer.

ive got 4'' lift swb,no swaybars handles good was goin 2 get quike release 1s wont worry now,i imagine a wagon would handle better. :?

Had mine disconected for a while. ripped it out totaly last week. feels real rolly at first but you get used to it.

I had mine extended at Procomp the same way that Bazzle said.
Drives great on road and flexs great off road. Is the way to go IMO

Ive just been through this myself, I have a 3" lift on a lwb gq.

I've pulled hte rear swaybar out and it drives just fine.

Get rid of it!

GQ LWB and pulled front and rear out, partially as I am lazy and also 'cause they don't tell you that quick disconnects are also slow reconnects. I crank the Tough Dogs up a bit higher and it's not too bad.

Mind you when I go back to Central Oz I will put them back in, weight on roof racks and lots of gibbers equals sway bars.

I dont have any on mine.Am thinking about extending the original arms to suit the lift.The kids nearly get whiplash when you go thru "s" bends because of the body roll.

Take them out, I did the simpson in my shorty that is 5in above standard without them it just body rolls a bit more. You can lift front wheels when cornering too :cool:

For the price for new extended sway bar links pins ($55 for a pair from me), I think this would be an easier option, if you can't modify your factory disconnects.

In my experience, my swaybar connected with the longer swaybar link pins did not effect my wheel articuation. Unless you have reletivley stiff coils.

3 inch lift coils in a LWB GQ/GU are extremely popular. I can have them to your door for $150 a pair and $95 each for Dobinsons shocks.

Disconnecting is no hassle with them - reconnecting them is a Cookie from what Ive seen... Specially when coated in 4inches of crap :( maybe a 2ltr spray bottle with water or similar could help...

So anyone actually lifted a patrol. was thinking about lifting mine what do you think.

As for a good way to clean them. Get an old fire extinguisher (would be good if it was pressure tested recently). These work great and a very easy to refill.
Just remove all pressure.
Take valve head off
Fill with approx 9lt of water
Put in a small cage (incase it goes bang, never heard of one though)
Fill to approx 700kpa.
Oh and replace spilt pin

Also great for cleaning out radiators and other stuff that dont like mud. Just ask Hottie.

I failed rego for no sway bars. Its a 15min install job. Extend the hangers & be done with it.
