Outer Limits 4x4 Board

On the weekend I blew the Fusible Link for the Starter Motor on my GQ....long story, but came down to the fact that I connected a new battery the wrong way round (looked Identical to the old one, expept the pos and neg were opposite ).

Im after the actual Fuse Cartridge...like this

Anyway, ive been to Auto One, Supercheap and will try Repco today, but cannot find the right fuse. Its an 85W Black Female, and I found a similar one at supercheap but its the wrong size connectors. Nissan have one which they reckon is the closest (its an 80W) but havnt seen it yet to verify its the right size...and its at the usual inflated price of $26

Anyone know another place I could look for one of these, i refuse to believe its a genuine part

If I cant find the same one through nissan what do I do, buy a new fuse box

It's a 30 amp fuse --> go to dick smith or jaycar or whatever, a brand new fuse holder will be like $2, the fuses to go with it will be about $2 for a pack of 6.

Its an 80 Amp fuse for this one...its the black one next to the Glow Plug link...

if the Nissan one is the right one, I may just use that instead of rewiring a holder...but thanks for the tip anyway

Oh I just looked at the link you had in the first post.

80A would require a couple of links afaik as 80A fuses won't be that easy to get.

Jaycar have 70A and 100A circuit breakers which are resettable ie no need to replace fuses.

Not that cheap, not that expensive either.

However, I don't know how weatherproof they are, you'd have to check them out.

I am assuming that when you said "80W" in your original email you meant 80 amps?

80W @ 12v = 6 amps, so I think he does mean 80A.

It's the link to the starter motor, easily 80A with a decent sized motor/starter.

actually, I meant 65A, I just checked it again and realised. Auto One are getting one for me this arvo, $9, but better than Nissans $26

Go for the Circus breaker, no need to carry spare fuses then.

my patrol doesnt even have a fuse there, i wouldnt imagine you would really need it. but now that youve got it you midas well put it in.

I bought a whole selection of fusable links from Repco last time I went away. They're made by Narva I think, so ask for a look at at their catalogue if you cant find em on the shelf. Male female different sizes etc
