There is a Newfield for the 80 series that is supposed to be stronger than factory 80 CV's :
http://www.cvunlimited.com/ Their 40/60/hilux is still not up to par with Longfields though.

You can buy same brand as the toyota cv's without the toyota box for about $160.

Factory Toyota CVs are NTN brand and are the best off the shelf CV to run. I wouldnt buy the Newfields they have a very bad rep on Pirate Offroad.
Longfields used to be able to be custom made but im not sure if they will still do them. Contact
www.camoware.com and they should be able to let you know if they are still available. These i beleive are the best option if you are allready having trouble with the stock ones.

I was told today that NTN longfeilds were the genuine toyota cv's. so what make good cv's.
My 80 series is a 91 model full time turbo deisel with about 250,000 km on the clock and as i am turning on full lock the cv's knock.

The Brand "NTN" is what Toyota fit to all their solid axle 4wds but dont confuse these for being Longfields.
Longfields are a modified CV that are only made by one very small engineering shop in the US. These are called "Toyota Superaxles" but are generaly refered to as "Longfields" these are only available from a few select distributors one being
www.camoware.com in the US. There is an Australian company(
www.snakeracing.com.au ) that also offers Longfields but im not sure that they will be able to supply any more as there have been some big changes in the availability of this product and who it can be bought from over the last month or so.
If you are just looking to replace your CV's because they are clicking on full lock then the factory "NTN" CV's will be fine. However if you are breaking the Factory CV's then you may need to look at purchasing Longfields.
Also dont confuse "Longfields" with "birfields" as birfield is also printed on the NTN CV's.

apparently he would treat them for an 80, if you sent him yours. It would become a costly exercise, but might be worth it.
